India’s largest EDM festival, Sunburn, is making a huge change: moving from Goa to Mumbai for its 2025 edition, set to take place December 19-21, 2025.
Goa has been synonymous with Sunburn for over a decade, offering beach parties and a free-spirited vibe. However, organizers say the move to Mumbai will expand capacity, improve infrastructure, and bring the event closer to India’s growing urban audience.
While some fans are upset about losing the Goa magic, others see this as a natural evolution — similar to how EDC evolved across different U.S. cities before finding its permanent home in Las Vegas.
“Goa gave Sunburn its soul, but Mumbai will give it scale,” said Sunburn CEO Karan Singh.
Why it matters:
EDM is exploding across Asia, and India is emerging as a major festival market. With the shift to Mumbai, expect more international headliners and larger productions. Early rumors suggest Martin Garrix, Marshmello, and Charlotte de Witte are in talks to headline.
